Heritage Centre Training Courses

The Tywi Centre,  based at Dinefwr Farm, Llandeilo, delivers a range of courses through the RDP Sir Gar Heritage Centre of Excellence scheme.
These courses provide an opportunity for individuals to develop the theoretical and practical skills and knowledge needed to look after old buildings and natural habitats in a traditional and sustainable manner.

Anne Cowell, a smallholder from Taliaris, near Llandeilo, has attended several of the Centre’s courses, including; Sash window renovation, introduction to lime and pond creation and management. Anne says:
“I now have a good understanding of the vocabulary in order to talk to tradepeople about my project to ensure the work is undertaken appropriately.  This has given me confidence.  I feel I will end up with a more sound home, more energy efficient, in keeping and working as it should than I would have without the courses.  I have also made links with local trades people that I didn't have before and have given them work as a result.
The centre is a fantastic resource and the staff very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.  I feel very lucky to have a resource like that on my door step. “
